Ian Wade is an inspirational landscape, wildlife & wedding photographer from Somerset in the UK. Ian’s photographic style is constantly evolving in the many different subject he tackles on a daily basis be it animals in their environment, landscapes or weddings. His passion for telling a story and to highlight the beauty of the subject in front of his lens is second to none in the Somerset area. He also sells his work through top image library’s Alamy an Getty images which command a world wide audience.
Digital Photography
Having started off using film Ian soon jumped into digital photography market due to the speed and flexibility of this medium. Combing digital files which use software packages like Photoshop really started fine tuning Ian’s images and pushing them to the next level. Ian is a strong believer that altering images in software packages should always be kept to a minimum and the image should look as natural as possible.
Conservation, Wildlife Photography and landscape
Ian’s talent in landscape and wildlife photography comes from a love of animals and their environment, his photography only being a “tool to show others the beauty of the natural world”. He has been lucky enough to travel to many countries for work and pleasure with his camera but has always had a great love for you UK and especially the Somerset area in which he grew up. Ian spends almost all of his spare time searching for new landscape and wildlife locations for his ever-expanding image library. Often getting up before dawn or camping the night before to ensure the light is of the best possible quality to really bring his images to life. in 2009 Ian was shortlisted three images in the British Wildlife Photography Awards and had an image
Commended in the Adult Native Category for Marwell Wildlife Photographer of the year 2010. In that same year, Ian was approached by the IUCN - the International Union for Conservation of Nature for a request to you use an Urban Fox Image from his year-long project photographing these animals in Bristol. The picture was used in a poster at the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Governments approved a new Strategic Plan for the next 10 years to reduce pressures on the planet’s biodiversity and take action to restore the natural world. They agreed on a new protocol on managing genetic resources and pledged significant new resources to implement the agreements. Other publications Ian has been published in are BBC Wildlife Magazine and Amateur Photographer. In 2010 Ian was asked to talk on BBC Radio Bristol at Broadcasting House on his Urban Fox Project, telling viewers on his Urban Fox Project in the heart of Bristol.

Recently moving into the wedding photography market Ian has taken his previous skill’s in photography and evolved and tailored them to this area. Always ensuring that the client using his skills are in charge and what style of image or themed images they are after he will deliver. Always meeting the couple and their family’s beforehand to discuss and ensure on the day he is recording the images they want and will treasure forever. Its such an import responsibility recording their special day I want the couple getting married to be at complete ease and feel rest assured I am capturing their beautiful day with a collection of beautiful images,” - Ian Wade 2009
