Urban Foxes Bristol - Portfolio 2

In the company of Bristol's urban foxes, photography from a 2021 project

Around mid-June of this year (2021) I headed back to an old location where Uban Foxes seem to have taken a stronghold. Your typical urban encounter might be a flash of orange darting across the road during daylight. Or maybe a longer encounter at night whereby the fox is interested in you for a couple of minutes.

This location day or night this year the Urban Foxes are constantly around and not fazed in people, noize or cameras. Before I had my young daughters and I had more time I would wait hours for the briefest encounter and if I managed to capture some shot I would get that wildlife rush! This location is different the foxes are pretty much there the whole time so you have the opportunity to capture some unique and different images.

The first evening I headed back I had not been to the site for a year so I didn't know what to expect. As soon as I arrived I spotted a fox and spent some time gaining her trust and then capturing some pictures.
